Our guided Mont Tremblant Snowshoeing Tour starts right at Tremblant resort. You’ll explore snowshoe trails through the forest with Alex or Richard, who will light a fire on the snow and share stories about Mont Tremblant’s origins, local legends, and the nature around you. This 2-hour winter hike is designed for families and outdoor enthusiasts looking for an accessible mountain experience.
Our snowshoeing tour begins at The Activity Centre at Tremblant resort, where our guide will fit you with snowshoes and explain how they work. From there, you’ll step directly onto forest trails that wind through the mountain terrain. The tour takes place from December through March when snow conditions are best for snowshoeing.
You’ll hike through pine and hardwood forests while we point out animal tracks and signs like blackbear, porcupine and white-tailed deer. Our guide knows the trails well and will adjust the route based on the group’s pace and snow conditions.
Midway through the hike, our guide builds a fire on the snow using traditional techniques. You’ll gather around the fire while he shares stories about Québécois folk traditions and life in the Laurentian mountains. This is a good time to ask questions, take photos, and have some snacks.
The physical effort is moderate. You’ll hike uphill and downhill on packed snow trails for about 2 hours total, including stops. The snowshoes distribute your weight so you don’t sink into deep snow, making it easier to walk than you might expect. You don’t need previous snowshoeing experience—our guide will show you the technique.
About our guides: Alex and Richard
Our snowshoeing tours are led by Alex or Richard, both certified outdoor guides with years of experience in the Laurentian mountains. They’re passionate about sharing their knowledge of the forest, wildlife tracking, and Québécois traditions.

Alex has guided for close to 10 years across three continents—from national parks in New Zealand and Nepal to nature and fishing tours in northern Ontario. He’s worked in a maple bush, which gives him hands-on knowledge of syrup production, and he guides trapping and bow hunting trips in the fall. On this snowshoe tour, Alex shares stories about Mont Tremblant’s First Nations origins and settler history, local legends alongside the scientific explanations, and practical winter survival techniques. He weaves in fun facts about Quebec’s nature and wildlife as you walk.

Richard grew up in the region, knows these forests intimately, and has been with us for more than 20 years. More than just an outdoorsman, he’s a talented musician playing 5 instruments, a sculptor, and you-tube personality (check out Les Randonneurs Masqués). Both guides focus on helping you feel comfortable on snowshoes while teaching you how to interpret, and understand, and enjoy our winter environment. Their guiding style is relaxed and attentive, adjusting the pace to ensure everyone enjoys the experience.
Our guided tour is designed for beginners and families. The difficulty level is easy to moderate. You’ll walk on forest trails with some hills, but the pace is relaxed with stops for the fire and wildlife spotting. You need to be comfortable walking for 2 hours in winter conditions. Children 8 years and older can participate (see age requirements below).
