What’s the minimum age to drive a snowmobile?

16 years old: the legal minimum age for privately owned machines

In Quebec, the minimum age for riding a snowmobile on public trails is 16. The purpose of this regulation is to ensure the safety of young riders and other trail users. In addition to the minimum age, 16- and 17-year-olds must hold a valid driver’s license, either a probationary license or a learner’s permit.

Adult supervision for 16- and 17-year-olds

Licensed 16- and 17-year-olds must also be accompanied by an adult who holds a valid driver’s license for operating a snowmobile on publictrails. This supervision is designed to reduce the risk of accidents by ensuring that young riders are supervised by an experienced guardian or parent

What is the minimum age to drive a snowmobiling on OUR guided tours?

For our guided tours, drivers must be 18 or 21 years old  minimum (*depending on the insurers current requirements) and have a valid driver’s license in hand throughout the snowmobile tour (copy or photo not accepted). Passengers must be at least 5 years old (min 137cm/4’6”).

This means YOU control the speed. Risks are minimized by running the excursions under the supervision of professional guides. The group always follows guides on dedicated snowmobile trails.
