5 km Self-Guided Calm Water River Descent (2h)

Our self-guided paddleboard activity begins at our dock on the Diable river after a short 5-minute walk along our trails, and ends 5 km further, at the meeting point for the return shuttle which picks you up 2 hours after your departure. It gives you plenty of time to enjoy the river and its beaches since the route can be completed in less than 1 hour 30 minutes if you paddle non-stop.

Know Before you Book

  • Minimum 4 years old.
  • Minimum 16 years old to participate alone.
  • 7 years old and under must be in the same kayak as an 18 year old+.
  • 15 years old and under must be accompanied by someone aged 18+.

Know Before you Go

  • Please dress appropriately for kayaking. Ask if you are unsure or see our What to wear section.
  • You have 1h30/ 3h / 6h to paddle down the river. A fee of $15 per person is charged for every 30 minutes of delay. There is an easy R1 on this section. (only for 8km and 18 km)
  • What to Bring: A bottle of water, watch or phone to know the time, swimsuit, hat, sunscreen, sandals or water shoes, snacks or lunch, waterproof bag for your personal belongings, dry clothes in your vehicle.

Additional Information

  • Our base is 20 minutes from Tremblant resort and approximately 1h45 drive from Montreal and 2h15 from Ottawa.
  • For guests who choose to reserve in advance (recommended), directions to meeting points will be provided in your reservation by email. Otherwise, directions will be handed to you when you reserve at The Activity Centre.
  • Prices do not include taxes or mandatory resort royalty of 3% and may be subject to change without notice.

FAQ – Kayak, Canoe, Paddleboard Diable

When should I reserve?

Reservations for weekends and vacations should be made 1 to 2 weeks in advance. For any other time, reservations should be made a few days in advance.

Is the river calm?

There is 1 very small set of rapids at the beginning that can be easily portaged, then current will move you along.

Can I sail autonomously if it's my first time?

Yes.
